Providing mental health care throughout Texas for anger, stress, and life transitions

welcome

Welcome to Prosperity Therapy. I’m glad you’re here and considering taking a step toward healing. My hope is that you feel accepted and comfortable working with me and that I can see you as you are. Together we can uncover your values, hopes, and strengths and work toward cultivating healthy habits for a more prosperous and fulfilling life. If we can understand why things are happening, we can learn how to navigate them better.

I specialize in helping people who are struggling with managing stress, anger, life transitions (moving, career changes, breakup/divorce, college, having a baby, puberty/aging), and relationships by teaching emotion regulation skills, communication and coping skills, boundary setting, and assertiveness training.

You are worth taking this step for. I’m excited for what’s ahead for you!

Your mental health is a priority

It's time to prioritize your mental and emotional well-being! They are a key component to overall good health.

At some point in our lives we are faced with adjusting to challenging life circumstances, adapting to society’s ever changing expectations, and worrying about whether the next step we take is the right one. This can be an isolating and overwhelming experience and can leave us feeling stuck, pressured, or lost. Most of us have difficulty finding a secure place to explore our emotions or worries and sometimes even talking to our friends or family about our stressors can be a stressor in itself. Therapy offers the opportunity to share without judgement and to understand yourself on a deeper level so that each decision you make is in alignment with who you are and what you truly want out of this one life.

In my work I have noticed this is challenging as we often feel the responsibility of providing, supporting, and caring for ourselves and sometimes our families. This coupled with society discouraging us from expressing our emotions creates immense stress especially if we feel we do not have a place to explore or share our feelings. Mental health challenges like depression and anxiety effect men and women alike. While men tend to experience more irritability and aggression as a result, women tend to experience more physical symptoms. I am the go-to therapist for issues related to anger and emotion regulation and help people learn to navigate their feelings in a healthy way so they can be happier versions of themselves.

I also help teenagers overcome stress, transitions, and anxiety so they can build a life that is balanced and joyful as they continue to grow. As a teenager there are many stages to navigate as you establish yourself in the world like learning what it is to be in healthy relationships, learning to juggle a social life and school/sports/extracurriculars, or improving your self-esteem. Because this sometimes feels overwhelming it can be beneficial to have someone to talk with and be provided support. Together we can honor the stage you are in and learn positive ways to move forward.

Although my specializations are for anger and emotion regulation, I have experience in other areas of concern. If you are needing someone to listen, call me today.

Let’s work together. Let’s prosper!

seeking support is a sign of strength

People seek therapy for various reasons including:

  • Feelings of loneliness, isolation, or inability to express themselves due to societal pressures or self-stigma over believing feelings are a sign of weakness instead of strength. Therapy provides a space to address these beliefs and build social connections.

  • Feeling stuck whether in relationships, a job, or in their own personal growth. Therapy offers the opportunity to learn how to progress forward.

  • Depression and anxiety which can bring symptoms of prolonged sadness, lack of energy, and constant stress. If left unchecked, these feelings can lead to other health problems or destructive behaviors which can impact well-being and relationships. Therapy provides tools for healing.

  • Intimacy in relationships. Relationship challenges, communication issues, and intimacy concerns. Therapy can help relationships be transformed through learning healthy relationships skills.

  • Stress management from various sources like work, family, and societal expectations. Therapy can equip you with coping strategies to build resilience.

  • Performance anxiety over work or personal achievements. Performance anxiety can hinder progress. Therapy can help manage these pressures.

  • Confidence building.  Many people seek therapy to boost self-confidence. Therapy gives you a space to address self-doubt and build self-esteem for more progress toward growth.

  • Life transitions like becoming a new father/mother, becoming a husband/wife or boyfriend/girlfriend, retiring, or coping with separation or divorce. Therapy can offer support to navigate these transitions in the healthiest way for you.

  • Uncertainty of purpose or meaning. If you are feeling a lack of direction or purpose, therapy can help explore personal values, goals, and find a sense of meaning.

  • Substance abuse issues. Sometimes people use drugs or alcohol as a way to cope with problems that may arise. If you feel this is true for you and is becoming a problem for your life or your loved ones have shared their concern about your use, therapy can help uncover the motivations behind your use and explore healthier ways to cope with stressors that do not involve drugs or alcohol.

If you resonate with any of these reasons or are currently feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or are struggling, consider reaching out.

You don't have to face anything alone.

treatment outcomes

Are you ready to take control of your emotions and enhance your life?

In therapy, we will work toward:

  • Strength in Vulnerability: Real strength lies in acknowledging our struggles. Therapy offers a space to express your feelings without judgement. It's a place to share burdens, unravel complexities, and find clarity.

  • Emotional Mastery: We often face societal pressure to suppress emotions. But having emotions is part of being human and emotional intelligence is a superpower! Therapy equips you with tools to understand and manage your feelings.

  • Navigating Life Challenges: Life can throw major curveballs like career changes, relationship struggles, or parenting dilemmas. Therapy helps you navigate these storms and move forward with resilience and confidence.

  • Communication Skills: If you've ever wished you could have expressed yourself more assertively in a conversation or more clearly to a partner, therapy can help by strengthening your communication skills, learning to set boundaries, negotiate, and assert yourself in a healthy manner.

  • Breaking patterns: Whether we know it or not, we are constantly behaving in patterns. Some are helpful and others are not. Therapy helps you recognize patterns and learn to create new patterns for better outcomes.

  • Self care: Taking care of others is easier when you can take care of you! I'm sure you've heard that you cannot pour from an empty cup. Therapy is a chance for you to invest in yourself for yourself and those around you.

Therapy can help you understand yourself better, equips you with life skills, and fosters resilience.

About me

Hi, my name is Cassandra. I have practiced therapy for 4 years and have worked with many people including children ages 4-12 in the school system, and teenagers, adults, and families in the community. I also spent time working for a Local Mental Health Authority helping people with severe mental illness and substance use disorders live a recovery-oriented life. I later transitioned to a new position as a Mental Health Clinician in a prison where I helped aggressive mentally ill male offenders learn about regulating their emotions. Now, with my wide range of expertise, I am hoping to be a source of support for you in my practice.
